Accident Story - Locked Out for Hours

It was one of the worst nights of my life! I work in a hospital and had an emergency which didn't go as well as we'd like it to. When my shift was over at 3, I just got my jacket, reached in the pocket for my car keys and drove back home. On my way, I realized that I had to get gas but I decided to just get some the following day. I was exhausted and just wanted to go to sleep. When I got home, I realized that my purse was missing. I keep everything in there – from my cell to the remote and home keys, not to mention some change and my credit cards. I couldn't go back either because the gas wouldn't be enough and I didn't even have my wallet to fill the tank on my way there. I couldn't knock on any neighbor's door at three thirty in the morning either so I just sat in my car.

I would have fallen asleep as I was so tired, if it wasn't for fear. I don't like dark as it is, let alone being locked out of the house at that hour. The only good thing was that I could stay in the car. When I saw the first neighbor leaving to go to work, I rushed and asked if I could use their phone.
